I'm looking for any kind of activity, either past or present in Harrisburg, PA and the surrounding areas. I'm not worried about Philly or Scranton, more so Harrisburg, Camp Hill, Lemoyne, Mechanicsburg. I see and hear alot of things that lead me to believe there is a good bit of current activity but I've never been able to directly associate it. I know there is a little bit of loan sharking and bookmaking in downtown Harrisburg but that's expected in cities. Anyone have any more insight? I'd like to get some information on this area. There is definately action in the general Harrisburg area. And you are right it is center primarily around the West Shore and Steelton. It is independent crews not a family or anything like that. I think they are connected to Philly for layoffs and stuff like that. There is Russian actiivty now too, on the West Shore. Remember how they moved in to Camp Hill like crazy a few years ago. Thanks for the reply. I have a feeling there is a tire and wheel store in Wormleysburg, very close to Enola on 11/15 that is tied somehow. Do you know of any other places that are connected? Do you have anymore on these independent families? Also, what activities are they in beside the usual sharking and booking? This message was posted using the Personal Edition of Toast Forums 1.6. Well, you do have the largest concentration of white supremacist hate groups in the USA..perhaps the Aryans are chipping away at it. This message was posted using the Personal Edition of Toast Forums 1.6. Get a free, skinnable ASP message board for your site at toastforums.com! |

I'm aware of the KKK but I'm looking more for information on the small groups on the west shore, what kind of rackets there into and what business's they are in control of. Jilly-
I don't doubt your stat, at one time the Klan had a noticeable presence in PA, but where did you get that stat? Many people, conventional thinkers, assume that the Klan biggest presence was felt in the South. This is true to a degree however read about Gov Ed Jackson (1920s) of Indiana and his direct tie to Klan leader DC Stephenson. For a brief time in Indiana the Klan controlled most levels (local, state) of politics. -jay
PS From my reading as it relates to south, the Klan's presence was found in pockets but not necessarily in the entire state. This message was posted using the Personal Edition of Toast Forums 1.6. Get a free, skinnable ASP message board for your site at toastforums.com! |

I know Jilly but garbage of the same feather flock together. When you see skins you often see their mentors around the corner and that being the Klan. Anyone who reads about these two groups can find two common links. First they are awful just on what they stand for and the means at which they will go. The second is there is often times some kind of a money scam going on. The early 1900s KKK history is filled with dues and money being embezzled by leaders, which is no surprise. Often times these skinhead groups are tied to some kind of street crime for profit. -jay This message was posted using the Personal Edition of Toast Forums 1.6.
